Drone detectors compared: Bulat, Ten, Nabat, Aldan and Dispatcher 835
A drone detector is not a radar in a box. It is a sensor that must output a track rather than an alarm, work in a real background and feed a common picture. Comparing Bulat, Ten, Nabat, Aldan and Dispatcher 835 by one range figure is meaningless.

Why detector ratings are uselessWhat to compareBulat, Ten, Alarm, Aldan, Dispatcher 835Why the brand is not the main thingHow to make comparisons on siteIn the search, the buyer sees dozens of names: “Bulat”, “Ten”, “Alarm”, “Aldan”, “Dispatcher 835”. Each has its own set of functions and its own price. But in a design brief, it’s not the names that are important, but three things: what the sensor detects, under what conditions, and what it outputs.
Why detector ratings are useless
The detector that performs best in the showroom may not perform well on site. There are no birds, reflections from walls, rain or running engines in the hall. The facility has it all. Therefore, the correct comparison is not “who sees further,” but “who works more consistently in your background.”
The second factor is output. If the detector only produces an audible alarm, it cannot be included in the control loop. You need a route, coordinates, speed, classification and integration protocol. Otherwise, the operator gets another screen, not a system.
What to compare
| Parameter | What to check | Why is it important |
|---|---|---|
| Range | At what ESR, altitude and weather | A number without conditions means nothing |
| Probability of detection | For testing purposes, not for advertising | Determines reaction time |
| False alarms | Per day at your facility | The operator stops trusting the system |
| Sector of review | Azimuth and elevation | Blind spots near the ground and under canopies |
| Update time | Seconds for full review | Affects the guidance of funds |
| Integration | Protocols, API, trace format | Without it, the detector is an isolated device |
| Cost of ownership | Power, maintenance, calibration | The purchase price is not the whole price |
Bulat, Ten, Alarm, Aldan, Dispatcher 835
These names are often searched for along with the word “buy.” According to open descriptions, these are different classes of devices: some are closer to portable detectors, others to stationary complexes with optics or a radio channel. We do not publish a rating without full-scale testing: it would be misleading.
- Bulat Look at what exactly you are buying: detector, complex or optical module; check the range for a specific type of drone.
- Shadow. Check the work in a city background and the speed of updating the route.
- Alarm Specify the sector, the possibility of integration and behavior in case of loss of connection.
- Aldan Compare not only range, but also weight, power and deployment time.
- Dispatcher 835Check which detection channels are in use and what is happening across multiple targets.
General rule: any name is just the beginning of a conversation. Request a test report from a facility similar to yours and a list of facilities where the device is operated permanently and not on display.
Why the brand is not the main thing
The detector is part of the system. If it is not associated with optics, REB and laser, its value decreases. Therefore, the tender compares not only devices, but also architecture: who combines the data, who assigns the threat level, who records the application.
Another factor is support. A device that cannot be calibrated or repaired in the country of use becomes a stock item. Ask about parts delivery times and operator training.
How to make comparisons on site
- Create a threat model: types of drones, altitudes, likely directions.
- Conduct 2-3 day tests in different weather conditions.
- Launch targets along pre-agreed trajectories.
- Record not only detection, but also the time before the trace is issued.
- Count false alarms per shift, not per minute.
- Check integration with your optics and exposure devices.
